Enrichment Classes
At Nazareth School, we know a child’s mind is open and active, and that’s exactly why we offer a variety of specialized programs.
“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” – Pablo Picasso
Welcome to Nazareth School Art class where every student in kindergarten through eighth grade is an artist! Art class is a fun space where artists can feel free and comfortable sharing their thoughts, feelings, and ideas through a variety of creative projects. Through these projects, students learn about the elements of art, various genres of art, and art history. We introduce the students to world-renowned artists as well as lesser-known artists who are changing the art world currently.
Each year students contribute their creations to the annual spring art show. They also have an opportunity to submit projects to the Del Mar Fair and decorate the Nazareth School Christmas tree with handmade decorations. Through art class, students learn to love art, gain self-confidence, and try their best. Most importantly they learn that “there are no mistakes in art!”

Mrs. Victoria Orihuela
Art Specialist
Creativity and passion fuel the urge to express the written word. We encourage students to explore various writing styles and find a comfortable voice to express themselves. The calm quiet of a library gives students the opportunity to open their minds to our world as they imagine traveling through time and to foreign lands.
Students visit the library at least once a week during the school day. The Instructor at the Nazareth library helps students explore and cultivate the intellectual and emotional components of written communication. The specific goal is to offer students an opportunity to peruse diverse content in multiple formats (print, digital, multimedia) that focus on personal inquiry, creativity, and expression.

Choir
Join us in making a joyful noise unto the Lord!
Nazareth School fourth grade is our choir class. We rehearse one day a week in the morning to prepare for the weekly Mass. The choir doesn't just sing at our Nazareth School Masses, we also sing for many community events including First Communion, May Crowning, and graduation. We love sharing our time and talents with visits to Nazareth House, bringing musical joy to the seniors.

School Musicals
At Nazareth School, we create a unified arts community, one we believe leaves a distinct impact on students who pass through our doors. Across both the performing and visual arts, we strive to augment the Nazareth School academic program by drawing on the unique perspective and self-expression possessed by each of our participating students.
Student cast, crew, and production assistants work together to present a musical play production each year. This is a wonderful opportunity that allows students to develop their strengths and talents and discover new ones.

Our physical education program at Nazareth School is committed to improving student performance and understanding of health concepts while fostering empowerment and self-confidence.
Our philosophy encompasses keeping the children engaged and entertained while teaching them proper movement mechanics and creating a broad athletic foundation and a lifelong love of health, fitness, and sport.
Our promise to each student is that they will be challenged just enough to deliver measurable results and personal athletic progress. Your child will participate in a 40-minute physical education class two days each week. The units covered throughout the year include most competitive sports that are found in high school along with some fun games.
The goal of our program is to develop confident students who understand the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. We will also strive to develop character in all students that emphasize fair play, sportsmanship, and teamwork. The students leave the program with a newfound commitment to health and fitness.

¡Bienvenidos al programa de español de Nazareth School! Welcome to the Nazareth School Spanish program!
Our Kindergarten through Fifth Graders, learn common expressions and vocabulary once a week to introduce them to the Spanish language and culture. Through creative writing assignments, music, art, videos, and fun activities students build their skills. Students carry their learning experience from the classroom to the world around them.
Nazareth middle school students learn introductory conversational Spanish. Students have the opportunity to practice their speaking, writing, and reading skills twice a week to help prepare them for high school. Formal grammar concepts are taught using Spanish curriculum through projects and assignments throughout the year. We encourage our students to challenge themselves in learning a foreign language, while gaining confidence in the experience of speaking Spanish.
¡Espero verte pronto en la clase de español! I Hope to see you in Spanish class soon!
